This story opens in 1949 when Riccardo Donati and his son, Renato, founders of Technodidattica, developed a method of making hand-made globes for educational purposes to add to their existing product line of office supplies and stationery. Over the following decades, Tecnodidattica evolved to exclusively produce geographical globes on an industrial level, acquiring globemakers Nova Rico of Florence, Atmosphere and National Geographic Globes. They manufacture in the township of San Colombano Certenoli in Lugaria. The Atmosphere brand stands apart through the collaboration with architects, designers and creative studios in the design process of contemporary globes. When matched with the map-making and research division of Tecnodidattica, the globes are both accurate, up to date, and distinguished by their design.
