Sophie Taeuber-Arp was a Swiss artist, designer and dancer who was born in 1889 and died in 1943. She was a prominent figure of the Dada movement and is known for her avant-garde approach to art, which included painting, sculpture, textiles, and furniture design. Taeuber-Arp's works were characterized by bold geometric forms and a playful use of color, and she was a pioneer in the use of abstraction in art. She also worked as a teacher, helping to develop the next generation of artists, and was an advocate for gender equality in the art world.
