Furoshiki are traditional Japanese cloths used to wrapping objects have seen a resurgence in recent years due to the easy, sustainable and stylish ways they can replace disposable bags, paper gift wrap, and even handbags. Mashu and their 1913 Baba Dyeing Factory is one manufacturer in Kyoto who have kept the tradition going. Using a 10-step environmentally-sound process using colorfast traditional dyes, preshrunk woven superior cotton cloth and hand screen printing with steaming and hot water fixation, their furoshiki is both a traditional and novel giftable item that can be joyfully used over and over.
