Founded in Kyoto in 1615, Hankeido has produced handcrafted calligraphy brushes for more than 400 years. The workshop has remained in the Fujino family for generations, preserving traditional brush-making techniques that have been passed down continuously since the early Edo period.
Hankeido is one of the few workshops dedicated to preserving the rare techniques of paper-wrapped brush making, still crafted by hand using washi paper and methods that have changed little over the centuries.
Brush B is mainly used for everyday writing. It has good body and a well-defined tip. Suitable for beginners to intermediate users.
