Japanese & Korean Contemporary

Our long-standing fascination with Japanese aesthetics and centuries-old craft traditions has led to a keen interest in contemporary Japanese design. How do today's Japanese masters manage to reinterpret traditional techniques and forms while preserving the beauty of classic objects? During our numerous travels through various regions of Japan, we have witnessed how ancient craftsmanship is being respectfully developed and brought back to life in fresh, modern forms. This journey of discovery also took us to South Korea, where traditional craftsmanship is valued as a precious cultural heritage. Here we present a carefully curated collection of contemporary objects made from a variety of materials – from the southern island of Kyushu to Tokyo.
