This model represents The Little Building Co’s first domestic architecture design by Frank Lloyd Wright, celebrating the iconic Jacobs House as a pivotal moment in his career. Its human scale and simplicity make it a timeless, relatable home for different stages of life. The model depicts the house set on the platform Frank Lloyd Wright instructed contractors to build at the northwest corner of the site, extending to the south and west in a direct reflection of the home’s distinctive L-shaped plan. Although Wright originally proposed a garden positioned three feet below the platform, only the platform itself was realized, as Herbert and Katherine Jacobs left the surrounding land in its natural state and constructed only a short section of the suggested board fence. Defined by crisp, clean lines, the model highlights Wright’s early geometric forms and organic philosophy through cherry timber cladding, clearly expressed horizontal panel walls, and brickwork laid using Wright’s distinctive system of deeply raked horizontal joints and flush vertical joints.

Instructions included with the model are easy to follow stage by stage diagrams.

Glue is required but not supplied. Little Building Co. recommends a good quality PVA wood glue. There are a number to choose from and they typically dry clear, thats what you want. Some are specifically fast drying and the exterior grade normally dries faster than the exterior. The good thing about PVA is that you have time to reposition your parts if you mis-align them
