Sasaki Seika - Konpeidou Hard Candies - Set of Three
Three individual 5g boxes of Japan’s traditional hard candy inside a sleeved gift box. Traditionally for children, these are for the adults - not too much sweetness, with Matcha, Houjicha, and Sakura flavors.

Unlike conventional Konpeitou, which is typically a hard sugar candy enjoyed mainly by children, Konpeidou was designed for adults seeking a more refined confectionery experience. By carefully selecting natural Japanese ingredients and traditional flavors, we created a unique texture unlike any other—delicately crisp at first, then gently crumbling like a fine cookie as it melts in your mouth. Even the packaging reflects the brand’s philosophy. Each elegant miniature box contains approximately 5 grams, the perfect portion to enjoy during tea time over the course of several days. The compact design transforms Konpeidou into a small daily indulgence rather than an ordinary candy.
Konpeidou is one of Japan's most iconic traditional confections and traces its origins back to 1569, when Portuguese missionaries introduced confeito (sugar candy) to Japan. Over the centuries, this delicate sweet became a cherished part of Japanese culture. Today, however, the craft has become increasingly rare, with only nine manufacturers remaining in Japan. Konpeidou are the original premium candies created by Sasaki Seika, founded in 1929.
Konpeidou uses no artificial flavors and relies on unrefined sugar containing natural molasses, rather than refined granulated sugar, allowing for a more complex sweetness and allowing the true character of each natural ingredient to shine. Their Matcha and Hojicha varieties, for example, capture the authentic aroma and rich taste of real Japanese tea leaves without any added flavorings.
