A match that travels through 100 years. Kobe Match, parent company of Hibi Incense Matches, began as a wooden match factory in 1929 in Himeji, Japan. Since then they have been producing high quality wooden matches used all over the world. In an era of technology, life’s simple pleasure of striking a match on a delightfully designed match box sparks a joy that we can all appreciate.

Each match box displays a different design, from black cats to motorcycles, designed by rebounded Japanese design house Trunk Design Studio, based in Tarumi, Japan.

Each Assorted Box contains six pairs of match boxes, which each contain 40x matches.

These matches are designed to strike only on a match strike pad.

Hibi Match

The Kobe Match Co arrived at a mixture of paper fibres, incense and charcoal to create the perfect strike-on-box incense match. The Harima region of Awaji has been producing matches and incense for nearly one hundred and fifty years.
