Taking good care of your scissors and shears means they will last a lifetime or more. Please store your shears and scissors indoors and away from moisture in order to avoid rust.

Toyama Homono recommends that after use you wipe the blades with a soft, dry cloth to remove soil and moisture. If tools need to be washed or become wet during use, dry as soon as possible with a soft cloth. Regular oiling of your tools with a light, multipurpose or mineral oil will prevent rust and ensure smooth movement. To oil, add a small amount of oil on a soft cloth. Rub onto the blades of your tool and wipe excess oil with a soft, dry cloth.

Please consider Toyama Homono's Rust Eraser in order to maintain the finish and to easily and thoroughly remove built-up dirt or rust. And use Toyama Homono's Sharpening Stone to keep the blades sharp and performing well.

Attempting to cut very dry wood, bamboo, or frozen branches may damage the blades. Do not use this tool to cut artificial flowers, wire, plastic or anything else of the sort.
