Ceramic Japan - You-ki Sake Bottle w/2 cups
The You-ki sake pieces feature unique organic designs based on an oval form. This set featuring one Tokkuri Pitcher and two Sake Cups is delivered in a gray pasteboard box. Harmony Sake Piece Set
Designer Komatsu Makoto came up with the idea for this series, which features beautifully smooth oval shapes, as something he wanted to add to his daily life. The egg-shaped plates and bowls present a thin form without a foot. The sake cups and pitchers, which feature a form much like how you sit back and relax when slightly tipsy, were finished with sand cloth to allow the hand to follow the shape. If you place the large sake cup, made using the same technique, upside down and put the smaller cup on top, they take on the humorous form of a snowman.
