To keep your BLUNT umbrella in top condition, open it fully and leave it overnight when new to loosen the mechanism. Always let it dry completely after use, preferably open or standing upright, before storing. Clean it gently with warm water and a soft cloth, avoiding chemicals or harsh brushes, and wipe the handle and pole regularly. Store it dry in its sleeve to prevent damage, and occasionally check that the rounded BLUNT tips and frame are secure and properly in place.
1. Break in your umbrella
When your new BLUNT arrives, open it fully and leave it open overnight. This “stretches” the mechanism so that the next time you open it, it’s smoother.
2. Dry thoroughly after use
After you use the umbrella in rain (or any moisture) allow it to dry completely before folding and storing. Leave it open in a dry place until all moisture evaporates.
If space is tight, you can stand it up with the handle pointing up and release the canopy tie.
3. Clean gently when needed
To clean marks on the canopy, use warm water and a clean soft cloth. Avoid using chemical detergents, harsh brushes, or machine-washing—those can damage the canopy fabric.
Also wipe down the shaft (handle + pole) periodically with a damp cloth to remove build-up of dirt and debris.
4. Store properly
When not in use, store your umbrella in its sleeve (if it has one) to protect the canopy from nicks, scuffs and sun-fade.
Ensure it’s dry before storing, and keep the tie around the canopy loose (or open) if you stand it upright.
5. Check the tips and frame
Because BLUNT umbrellas have their signature rounded BLUNT tips, if you notice a tip looks sharp or detached when the canopy is open, it may need to be pushed back into place.
