Ameico Classics - Max Bill - ULM Multifunctional Furniture
Designed in 1954 by Max Bill for multi-purpose use at the Ulm School. Useful in modern interiors as a shelf or occasional seat.
The Ulm Multifuntional Stool (Ulmer Hocker) was designed by Max Bill, first Vice-Chancellor of the Ulm School of Design, together with Hans Gugelot, for the students of the college. It was produced in Bill's own carpentry workshop with wood that had been donated. Light and robust, the Ulm Multifuntional Stool was designed to help student's carry books to class, to use as a convenient seat, side table or shelf. It's especially fun used in multiples to form a shelf unit.

“It has become clear to us, that beauty can no longer be developed out of function alone; instead, the demand for beauty has to be set on the same level as a functional demand, since it is a function too.” - Max Bill
