French designer, Antoine Daniel, founder of the aptly named company “the Line,” used his cabinet-maker background and his father’s architectural knowledge to begin crafting city skyline silhouettes from sheets of steel. His first started with a photograph his father took when they were sailing off the coast of Marseilles. Daniel redrew the silhouette in a continuous line then laser cut the outline. The prototypes sold out immediately.
The Line uses recognizable viewpoints of iconic cities that become, in essence, icons themselves: decorative objects, souvenirs, gifts, tattoos for your wall, or your own personal geography, this graphic wall decoration honors the connection between people and place.
