Toyama Hamono was founded in 1861 in Sanjo, a city in Niigata Prefecture with a long tradition of metalworking. Rooted in the art of tanzo (traditional forging), they continue to make shears built for real, everyday use. They do not make tools for display, but pride themselves on making tools that cut cleanly, sit comfortably in your hand, and grow more reliable with every season. That belief guides everything they do — from the steel they choose to the final adjustment before a pair of shears leaves their workshop.
