Made in South Korea
Master Shin's Anvil
Forged from recycled railroad and car spring steel with fine grain hickory & chestnut handles, blacksmith Shin In-Young produces the best handmade traditional Korean knives and gardening tools.
Traditional Techniques
Dang Ghi Banding
Master Shin’s uses an X banding technique “dang ghi” around the wood handle without burning the wood, one of his many trademarks. In Korea the X mark was reserved traditionally for high quality knives, so as to distinguish them from lesser quality steel. Master Shin’s blades are stamped with his mark, the #60 referring to his heritage status.
Minimal Design - minimal footprint

AYNO Designer
Stefan Diez
“A design break of almost 70 years at Midgard was a clear challenge. And we were very happy to accept it, considering it a call to finding a radical solution." - Stefan Diez
Diez's "circular" philosophy is a guide for how sustainable design practice can meaningfully transform the global supply chain.
